My first real post of artwork here. Been browsing for a long time and recently just got my Graphire 2. I love it I just wish i had more time to work with it. I am in grade ten so I dont know all the things so as physics of folds and such. Anyways, it supposed to be a skater doing a frontside crooked grind it only took about 20min, and I am in need of your crits.

Thanks guys

Wheres the Coping? Smile
I think this one is really cool, maybe you could add some shadow under the board so it doesnt looks like there are no wheels, Wheels of fire.

sk8 or die

Nice smudging...
It needs more contrast too
did you use the smudge tool for everything?

Are you saying that people that age aren't able to do that? I think you're just speaking for yourself...

yeah basically all i did was lay down some colors and added a darker color and smudged it. Just very early on. Yes, I was referring to myself. I have not been taught that and have not looked into folds and such because I know there are 15 year olds out there that know how. For now the coping is the litte gray part and I added a pattern. I just hoped to see if anything looked out of position before I go far into detail. I was thinking the right foot looked odd. Anyways, thanks for the comments, hopefully I can fit in some time with my tablet between homework.

Thanks

im 15 and i think i know a good deal about folds and anatomy and such----
to give you some pointers i think you should study or 'practice' some more with people and colors before doing this---the legs are awful short and i think you made it like that partly because your instict told you to try to fit the entire picture on that little canvas size---

maybe you shouldn't work the back angle just yet since thats a bit tougher--
take some magazines like thrasher or whatever you may have and copy some skaters--do some black~n~white stuff to not deal with color just yet because first you should learn about value and shading--

and when you DO work with color--dont use patterns like you did on the grip-tape and fill in the whole piece with the basic colors you're gonna use first--at least thats a more efficient way to me--OH YEA--and did i mention smudge tools are the devil unless you know how to use them--don't overdose on the smudge!!

the ledge lacks perspective--if you use photoshop you can make straight lines with the 'shift' button----but then again you did say this was 20 minutes---POOEY oh well---------laaaaaaaate
