not that Im aware of.. in fact it makesd copying between two hard drives faster than if you were copying between two partitions of the same drive. Very Happy

Setup an IDE controller, or use a RAID configuration and it absolutely won't. Otherwise, yes it does - but only slightly.

Slow down? Not really (unless they're all massively fragmented).

But a couple of things to watch out for when using multiple hard disks:

1) Make sure your power supply is powerful enough to support that many hard disks. If you have a crappy/unstable power supply, that's a sure-fire way to accelerate hard disk failures and have your PC crap out on you. And even if your power supply is reliable, overload it with a lot of devices and it could give out.

2) Make sure your casing is well-ventilated. Hard disks generate heat and if you have a small, cramped casing, the heat could build up fast in there. That could potentially damage other hardware components as well.

Here I'm assuming you mean to use 4 internal hard disks.

thanks guys! oh, forgot to mention, actually I have 2 hardrives that are divided into 4, but that shouldn't make any difference right? It's just that Morrowind lagged like a bitch after I had installed the new harddrive. Got me worried a bit. Could just be temporarly problem though, I haven't tried restarting my computer yet (downloading stuff). Hm.. thats probably it.
Thanks.
