I'm not sure how I'm to setup the rig in Maya for the arm-fangs, I want them to be able to retract and extract..hmm

setting up those arm fangs should be pretty easy. You need to look at the gnomon online tutorials. http://www.gnomononline.com/character.html that tutorial should give you some ideas on how to set up your arm fangs.

Amazing, but the little guy on top takes away a bit of "cooooolness" from the whole of the image.

wow thats s**t cool! little guy on top especially he really adds character to the image..gives it a more cartoony apeal.. reminds me of that guy in mad max
