This is my first proper attempt at CG illustration with Painter.
I've been messing around for a while with this in the WIP section.
I guess I'm not 100% happy with the way it came out - but then again I never am.
I'd be real happy for any thoughts you might have on this one.
It's for an online game, and it's supposed to be a character illustration.
Thanks!

Her face seems a little thin, her eyes don't look quite right, the shotgun looks like a baseball bat, and she seems to be leaning into the shotgun even though it's not actually touching the floor (she looks like she's putting weight on it or something).

The colo is not bad, but the pose is a bit rigid...
She would have better the body vertical, and just the hip have to be turned... |

hey the fuckin pic is good. dont let those bitches get you down. you can pose like you're leaning without actually leaning on anything, have your own style of eyes and face, have unique-looking/futuristic weapons, and still be good god-dammit. people are too fuckin picky on here. its a killer pic. |

Hi,
TossMonkey:
Actually, I do agree on all your points, but I'd appreciate any tips on how to fix this / avoid it in the future. Want to do an overpaint?
JeP:
I think so too - guess I need to do some anatomy practice.

Thanks a lot for the support.
Wouldn't mind people going into a bit more detail in their critique, if you can spare the time!
Thanks again!

It all works for me. Nice color selection and CG. You may want to consider a pose/body positioning that is a little "jauntier", if you will. Her facial expression is cocky (good thing), so to match that "mood" you could increase the angle of her hips, and throw the shoulders in the opposite direction, more so. I don't necessarily think you should redo anything on this image, its solid as is...just some thoughts on the next piece |

HI elvis!
Ive nothing to criticize about your painting skills, but your posing could have been stronger imho,
may be something like this;
I dont know if the result is very natural though, as ive tried to keep the most part of your paint..
hope this help,
Cu

cptoonz: thanks, that makes a lot of sense actually.
kakikukeko: super, you're spot on. That would have been a better pose. I'm actually doing some fast sketches now based on the Loomis figure drawing tutorial.
Definitely need to work on the posture, and body expression - I have no control at all in that area at the moment. But stay tuned, I'll be back, hopefully with some improvement.
Thanks!
