Hi,

here ill show some units i made for an RTS.
Some of them are still WIP but they stay like that, actually the company closed the internal development... so i dont work on them anymore.
BUT!
I still could use some feedback... feedback is allways good the see how others see my stuff, and helps much for future projects.

Nice sprites! Did you do them in 3D Max? What pallete to you use? How do you light each sprites? Do you have a lighting template?

Makes me want to play StarCraft again!

not sprites... 3d real-time. small units around 150-350 Polys and bigger units around 350-500.
Building is around 1000 Polys.
There should be 3-5 LoD modells from each unit/building.
The textures where made using Lightwaves texture-baker, which makes working with textures very easy, u can texture it how ever you want and in the end u have a perfect UV-Map.

Thats a lot of polys now? Although making real time rts are kinda outta my ring of study. They look great. Got in real close and looked, their nice.

Looks great.
Only flaw I could think of was the "Fire Drone" and its fuel canister. I take it that the cylindrical shape on the center body was just that. This looks great but on a tech-level its an easy target... kaboom and all that

hyptosis: no not much polys, but on the other hand... i could allways use some more thnx

Shikome: your right... damn, i tryed to make all the units a bit in the form follows function style... but i didnt see that problem. hmmm... hey! Thanx for the feedback...thats exactly what iam looking for
