I like it. It has a nice H.P. Lovecraft vibe to it.

The only crits I can offer are that the face seems to be lit by a totally different lightsource then any other part of the creature. Either that or someone is hold a diffuse flashlight a few inches from his face that we cannot see.

And second the head seems either flat or translucent. If it is indeed meant to be translucent perhaps some brain matter or other shadowy shapes inside teh dome to make the depth more clear. If not meant to be translucent try using a hint of color not found in the background to separate the head from the background.

I don't agree that the face has a totally different lightsource than the rest. Sure the rest has that bounce light, or secondary light from the right, but both forms have the same light from the left... I can't see what you mean Lightbringer. Maybe there's a teeny little bit of discrepancy, but hardly enough to make it obvious. I think what you were trying to say is that the Value's are different. eg. lower the intensity of the highlight on the face?
