Took some snapshots of my stuff from this past semester for my website, and realized
that I really like how this turned out.

For this one, our requisite old nekkid guy opted to wear a costume of sorts, and dressed like a homeless person.

Recently, most of my more succesful life drawings were done with powdered graphite and an eraser; using subtractive strokes to make shapes. Some other pics done in this style:
Different model, different costume-cowboy
Different model, different costume-Woman sewing
Female model posing

Those sketches are really cool, yeah I see the sense of drawing with different approach, so instead of drawing the shades, you define the lights.. should try that sometime.

I just LOVE doing drawing like that (manire noire ?). It's quite messy when you really want to do a pure black drawing with compressed graphite but it's so much more worth while. Makes you realise a shape is not only defined with shadows but also with light.
Those are great bakana. Maybe you should try a still life in the same technique. Like for example some pieces of reflective white ceramic under a spotlight or something. So you can play with different levels of white and highlights, accents and variation of shadows..

and my quote of the month as of today : Experimenting is good.

looks very nice! but don't hesitate to go back into it with a charcoal pencil to deepen the shadows and such.
