I've finally gotten the girl holding a gun picture outta my system. This was basically an excuse for me to try out different brushes and techniques in Photoshop.

nice sedone, like the colors ! And, I'm glad you got that pic out of your system, hehe. Really like the wall on her side, also her suit is very nice. I have nothing in particular to crit, maybe the city in the background could have a bit more depth? It doesn't really have the distance and size now (maybe it just needs more and smaller lights that doesn't glow that clearly to give that effect). But, not really important either Glad to to see your activity again.

Really nice, the colours and values are good. The warm light on the face is great. Is that smoke coming out of the gun? looks like a bit too much. I really like the general 'look' of the rendering, it has some traditional paint qualities about it. Your experimenting with custom brushes really paid off.

The line around her hips / waist up to her chest looks weird to me. I think she needs more of an hourglass shape, by pushing the line at her back inwards a bit. maybe also lower her breasts a little bit. They just look a tad cramped up there. I love chics in spandex.

Hope that helps. Great pic!

Hey Joachim, I think I'll try out your suggestion about the background. I was really trying to get some depth in there, but I haven't painted very many backgrounds before. It probably needs some more thought.

Ian, right now I don't get that compulsion to change her figure, but maybe I'll see it. Yeah, that's smoke coming out of the gun I added it it because at that point the picture had so many cliches, like the cross, and stake. I thought it'd be kinda fun.

Pat, thanks man! I still like that smoke coming out of the gun, but I'll tweak it a bit, as right now it does look pretty stupid.

Wow, this is beautiful.

Like Joachim, I really love that wall. You put some amazing texture into it. I can't stop looking.

And like Pat, I have to agree that the gunsmoke looks a little too thick/big for that little gun barrel. It kinda looks like the gun was just smoking a big fat cigar.

I also really love the girl's outfit. The bounce light is very well handled.

really nice painting. i like the earth-tone color pallette that you seem to use in most of your work. it's so natural looking; hard to believe it's all digital.

btw: your site looks very good as well. great pencil sketches!

That's very well handled. The colors work well together and the face is quite striking. Is that smoke coming from the gun? If so, it's not quite working for me that large. Doesn't it usually just roll out of the tip of the barrel? This is easily one of my favorite pieces of yours.
