looks like smeered and spattered ink. my guess is that it was done with a "real" ink pen. |

pretty damn cool! i love the different textures and brushstrokes, really fascinating stuff going on there.. and it all looks so loose and capricoius (which is good, in case there's any doubt).

visualsiege, yeah I get what was used, my curiosity was as to how or what technique was used. Like the diffrence between using a paintbrush and human body parts.

Hiya, all! Sorry for not being around more. I'm prepping for the Denver Dark Arts thingie this year and have finished four poster-size images. Two below, two linked.
Crits highly appreciated. I will not be changing them but I'd like to know how they are received. Also I just like sharing.

Nice Reed, I really think that this style really works for you. Though I like the semi-portraits, some kinda of story boarding would be something great to be seen from you. How did you do these again?

Basement: My method is strictly non-tool. Since india ink is very difficult to control, I set my mind to a certain shape and let the dropper dribble. It has many applications.
When I need more control, I'll use my nails, fingers and breath to disperse ink. The best thing to imagine is Brundlefly (The Fly) regurgitating his own acid to metabolise a donut. I'll let ink slosh in my mouth and spatter on the page. Sometimes I've got to strain goobs through my fingers. It gets ugly.
I've ruined plenty of clothes (and carpet) using this technique, but it's worth it just for the reactions people get. I can say with pride that I'm very involved with my works, for better or worse. It's hard to rip off, too, since people don't want to work this way. > |

Mmmmm, ink... do your teeth get stained black from this?
I love the pics, they remind me of illustrations from an old scary stories book I used to have. The illustrations were more disturbing than the stories.
