cool creatures. i also like the color and light. nice 'pose' on the two front creatures .. reminds me of the evil look of the intelligent dinos in Jurassic Park :-)
some probs.: the pic is too busy and some areas are blured. you seem to have difficulty with the legs.. I cant even decide if they are 2 or 4 legged creatures... and the two creatures in the front have their legs in the exact same position.
i suggest you look at some dinosaur legs for reference. also, try painting at a much higher resolution (and scale it down when it is done) |

Cool man. Good to see you bringing your WIPs to the finish line. Looking really good.
One thing I didn't notice or think of before until I'm looking at the finihsed pic now is that the darkness is too dark maybe. I can't quite put my finger on it but I initially thought that maybe it needs to have a better indication of a horizon line, or something similar. I tried to do an overpaint real quick to show you what I was thinking (I don't think I could explain it otherwise). I have no idea what color should be used for this or in what way it could be done so that it looks right but here goes.
Since this is probably the worst paintover to illustrate a point in Sijun history I feel I must find something that might be a little more help.
Hold please...
...[Elevator Musak]...
Hmm maybe this one Alex Boyd did for the new Skaven army book:
Notice the shadows in the large "A" shaped mass of rats in the forground are very dark, almost black. But the shadows in the background are never as dark as the ones in front. This gloom effect might be put to good use in forest type picture like this one of the Kroot hounds, to give a sense of atmosphere like the mist of a dank forest edge. If you reversed the initial values you set down in stage 3 to go from dark foreground to light background maybe?
Well I don't mean this one specifically since I know you are done with this one and off working on something new, but maybe an idea for next time. |

geelimp:
i went diggin' to find images on GW's site.
kinda wish i'd done this earlier. I did most of my work on these based on unpainted figs here.
ELLioT:
got a link?
i'm not too familiar.
Gimbal:
oh, NOW you bring this up.
Good points.
i'll definately consider that.
