He looks more like a goblin than an orc, with a tiny frame like that. Great figure drawing and I dig his knuckles! |

Hahaha eviltoylet...I think he uses that knife to brush his teeth or something...I really screwed up there. Oh well I'll get it right next time. I also realize that he's off balance, the should be leaning more forward. I will leave it as it is, but will keep these mistakes in mind. Thanks for the replies.

What up?...This is nice pix in the tradition of American illustration that harkens back to turn of the century. NC Wyeth, Howard Pyle (who's one of my heros)...nice shadowing as well. Ed-- |

Hey, that looks great. Fun to see something more or less finished from you. How does he keep the shoulderpad on...Glue maybe?
I find myself often bugging people about technical aspects of drawings...*smacks self*

Hi,
very nice drawing, u gave that figure a good depth with the shadows, just two things. The knive seems to point to far backward for the way how the Ork is clutching its fist and the upper left arm (holding the knive) is to big when the line on the right side of the hand belongs to it, looks like an upper leg.
Just something I noticed |

very nice work, depth is key and you developed it well. It is a high complement to get so many complements on hands (and feet). So many artists tend to avoid dealing with them and ruin otherwise great pieces. Excellent |

wow damn, thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah hands are a hard subject, but if you get hands and face right, it's hard to mess up a drawing too bad. Hurricane yeah I understand exactly what you're saying. In the John H. Vanderpoel (check him out) anatomy book, he says that " it is too easy for people to get caught up on the single shapes of the muscles and forget the overall look of the body". Best way to remedy this, it by doing gesture drawings..and you will see how to convey the real looking shape of a person with only the gesture and the outline.
