Things I learned while making this:
- Scribbling gives you hell when you want a clean edge down the road.
- The earlier you figure out what you want to draw, the less time you waste on details you don't care about
- While it's nice to start with a loose brush, going back in with a tiny brush and taking your time preserves texture while giving you the control you need to finish up.
- The bottom lip is much more about a suggested volume than a shape
- I still don't like drawing ears
Paintovers welcome above all. Comments great unless you're gonna say something about the ear. You knew it was an ear, that's good enough for me. I'd like to hear ideas about planning ahead for the right amount of contrast. I was hoping for a fuller range of values, but I ended up with nothing above about 50% gray. |
