Here's a more worked on Lola...
as for the eyes, i did a 5 minute redo on em, that'll do for now..
as for the neck thiness, your on your own, looks alright to me.
Here's a new image I whipped up in under 2 hours for my images and ideas class.
Its unfinished...but i'd like to hear comments, suggestions, etc.
If you like it please don't hesitate to state so !

Hey, you've got quite a good likeness to Lola there. Run Lola Run is one of my all-time favorite films, and I'm happy to see that someone from another part of the world knows it as well
Only critic would be that her right cheek (or chin ? I have the words confused right now) (to our left) seems a little flat.
Everybody who hasn't seen Run Lola Run yet, go rent it today ! |

Hey Anthony - That's a very nice painting. You definetly got the likeness down pretty well. The only thing I would suggest would be to try and tweak the eyes a bit, right now they sort of look like they're looking at two different directions. (cover one side and then the other and you'll know what I mean.) And also the darkest value that you're using for the shadow of the face kind of make the head and the neck a little bit flat. (a little bit more blending would probably take care of that)
I like the movie a lot, it's one of my favorite films. The director has a couple of other movies you should check out.
I remember during that period I saw a couple of really good movies. Another movie that I enjoy was "Last Night" By a Canadian director call Don McKellar. The movie was shot in Toronto, making it espacially interesting to watch.
I checked out your site btw, I love samurai4.jpg |

No offense, but I think the way you drew her makes her look like 30 years older if you know what I'm talking about. Those brush lines look like creases, you know. |

im very surprised that you all know that movie! was it shown in canada, states and down under in main theaters or in little independent cinemas? was it synchronized or went it with subtitles? if there is a english synchronized version i would love to see it. tip: there is a movie, same director, same actress (she is his girlfriend), original title: der krieger und die kaiserin. irritating but great! |

Xoco it has kinda become an underground hit, I love it, and I love the girl. The director is amazing, his next work "The Princess and the Warrior" is completly different and is absoulty beautiful to watch. |

Seems like you picked one really popular theme to draw upon here Anthony
The movie is my favorite and the soundtrack plus remixes by Franka Potente herself (Lola) are great.
I thought the movie was originaly in german ?? Anyway, saw it first at the movies in it's original version subtitled in english then on Videotron's Super Ecran (a service by the cable company that airs movies all the time - you pay monthly fee). This last time it was dubbed in french.
*EVERYONE* in montreal knows of Rent Lola. -I've been oogling that 7 foot poster of the movie last week.... hmmm
And now that I got carried away, you're drawing is great but I don't think it's finished... or is it ? I'd really love to see it polished a bit more.. Oh and perhaps a few firetruck-red highlights here and there (on top). I agree about the eyes.. or is it just after she went rolling down the stairs and is slightly disoriented ? |

and worked on the brushstrokes alot more, it looks closer to a finished piece now.
Let me know if you like it |
