Ever since I got scent of the talent and skills around here I got hooked. Thing is tho, I'm kinda stuck...artist blocks, no inspiration, and of course school..that drains a lot out of me. So I have less time to draw and more time to realize how much I suck. The only thing i can draw is females...I never have courage nor time to adventure into other areas.

Anyway, here's a quickie pic. Notice the dull white space and improper shadows...I need help with composition, color and shading...bad >_<
Thanks for any help/critiques that I might receive!

very nice picture

.. IMO only thing that can be adjusted is the bright area under the eye. I think its too low

Welcome to the forum! There are some really talented people around here, and I think you'll fit right in. What a beautiful sketch.

Hey hoodz, I didn't know you'd be here! lol, sad sad what happened to A3. But then I'm working with some fans right now to finish up a MP version of it. I have most of the unit stuff done..just someone didn't put it into A3 and no one actually told me what the hell was going on lol. I didn't even know when exactly Ausp dropped the bomb. haha.

Anyways, guys, I designed the page...Sue's mentioned to me I should plaster "DESIGNED BY KUREN" over the front page...but I figured that was a lil dominating.

I'll troll around a bit...hehe...I need to get back to work.

btw, I didn't design the page, stuart/kuren did. I'm a lazy ass and given up design long ago. Speaking of Stuart, he should be making his way here...soon, perhaps?

Welcom to sijun! I was wondering if you'd show up here. Talent seems to attract talent. I have had your site in my favorites for some time now and I really admire your style. Keep up the great work... Such talent and you're not even studying art???

No unfortunately she is not studying art. It's a long story with her mother...Basically you got a chinese mother stooped on the fact that university means "god", therefore you have to succumb to it and study there. If you don't, you'll go to hell, but as long as you go to uni...you'll be redeemed and you're ok. So she's in comp sci right now, doing art on the side. (/w me)

well, i love the anime style, and the realistic type rendering goes very well. Nice to see anime artists breaking free of the cell shading look.

*peruses turnip's site* *adds to favourites* sweet site, btw. love your stuff. Now i'm gonna have to try those tut's out... grrrrr =^_^= Always nice to see other vancouver artists' work, too... btw, you a UBC student? or SF?
