Even though I've been doing a lot of plain old painting lately, there is something relaxing about doodling up a hideously over textured critter.

While the previous ettin concept was for a specific game, this one is just for fun.

this is bizarre, but i like it. although, i dont think the eyes or teeth look very scary.

It's true, the eyes and teeth aren't scary. That's kind of a habit, I don't know if it's good or bad, adding slightly goofy elements to an otherwise fearful creature. Ugh, it got me in trouble at my last gig, but I always thought the characters had more personality as a result and were less of a killing machine.

It's photoshop all the way, except for one thing, the cool texture in the background is a buildup of three photos from Jeremy Engleman's public texture site - thanks, Jeremy.

The one thing that made it kind of scary for me is the teeth and eyes, because they made the creature sort of look like human. I think that kind of thing is creepy.
