Wow, looks really cool. When I saw the wizard as it was loading I was wondering if we were going to have Shadowfax down there! I think you've got a bit of anatomical problems there on the the legs of the horse but I don't have a horse in front of me to compare to. Still looks really cool, you did that in 35 minutes? I'm impressed, probably because I suck at working fast right now. |

awesome... but did you use a photoshop filter for the motion blur? if you did, ou shouldn't have... i think it would look better without all the motion blur |

That's really nice. I like the motion blur.. it gives it more action than it would have without it. Colors are nice too.. it's like there's a gradiation from blue to red to yellow. I wish you had done something more with the sky/background though colorwise, at least using a different color or fading it from the horizon or something.
But it's a quickie, I don't expect you to work on it more unless you really wanted to |

NEVER use motion blur to imply motion, that's another one of the many "don'ts" of using filters, heh even if you did manage to blur the picture correctly (by blurring moving parts more than non moving parts, and in the right direction) you'd still end up with a fake effect,
first you must know how to imply motion through the design and pose of the figure, before you learn how to do it through rendering. this is done by controlling the apparent center of gravity, and by placing it off of the point where the figure supports itself (ahead of the legs looks like it's moving forward, behind the legs it's moving backwards) there are tons of other ways, but this is the most obvious, you could allso use the design of the scene, the colors and many other ways to imply motion and many other things in a picture. |
