In a world overtaken by human pain, pollution, and destruction. Where currupt governments wage war on starving countries for profit. Where our memories are controlled and manipulated to benifit the greedy. A man on a mountain turns his back to the killing noise for one true moment of uncontrolled freedom.
That's not a parachute but a normal hiking pack.
This is prolly my first complete painting attempt. I'm not positive on how long it took. Prolly around 5 hours in total with my trusty intellimouse.
Any suggestions are welcome as i'll come back to work on this another day.

Mmmm.... i like it. I might be wrong, but i'd think it'd be more dramatic and look better if the rock in the very front was darker than the mountains in the background?
But, otherwise i really like what you have there... though i must say he's not going to survive cuz his backpack straps dotn goa ll the way around =0 |

Ahh the straps! I knew somthing didn't look right, thank you.
Hes not going to survive because that's not a parachute.
The mountains are darker because of the heavy clouds that cover them. It's sunny where the cliff is, no clouds. I'll fix up the rock so it looks more sunnyish.
Thank you all for the comments so far, it's much appreciated. |

Nice picture indeed, but your message is all wrong, sounds the same for all the angry/depressed/psycotic teenager syndrome for suicide (or attempting). Its just selfish. |

He sure is wearing some bright pretty clothes for such a depressing world he's in.
I think this looks really nice, and I don't agree with what the above guy said about the trendy suicide teen angst whatever crap. I think this is much more "beautiful" than that typical message. It actually portrays freedom, not hate and anger and wilted rusty flowers dripping with blood. *grin* |

poxin this pic has a great feeling, but I allso think the rock is too faded out, if it was infact sunny than the rock would be brighter and have stronger colors/highlights, the mountains would have more muted colors no matter how bright they are because of the distance between them and the rock (and a large volume of air causing the colors to become more hazey as you go towards the distance) |

Radiater: Thanx! Nah it's not sumas. It's one of the mountains up the chilliwack river vally. Dunno the name =B
DuKEZ: What you get out of the painting is all up to you. That's the beauty of art. It's a shame you choose to see such negativity.
Jezebel: thank you =) I appreciate your responce. I admire your work.
roundeye: Yeah hes killing him self, but death isn't the objective. It's about the experiance.
One person I showed this to decided that the man was about to fly. I rather like that idea.
shahar2k: Thanx for the suggestions. I'll try that out as soon as i'm not falling asleep =)
Welp, off to bed. |
