I didn't know that he was a Hobbit before the ring. I think you captured him quite well considering this.

i think he needs larger feet (doesnt he flap around in the water under the mountain?), and it kind of looks like he's chewing on something. maybe he is :]

Nice and clean. One problem I see is the lack of pectoral muscles. How would he be able to lift his arm up like that? Considering his arms have a slight amount of muscle definition, he would have muscle there as well.

Fantastic work! Love the look of his skin and that icy background. REALLY like that background. Great colours, too.

Yeah, where's his pecs, though? Or his nipples?
His eyes don't appear to be looking directly at the ring. I think his pupils should be more in the centre of the eyeballs. Also, there should be a little more work on the hair of the back of his head, unless it's meant to look that transparent.

Hmm. I've never been quite satisfied with the look of the rocky background myself. But if it works for others, then cool.

Yeah, the hair is a problem. It was a lot better looking in the full-sized blown up version that I completed before I reduced it to a more visible, loadable format. Guess I should try to redo that at the current size to avoid having it look transparent. Thanks fellers

I thought that when Gollum said "his precious" he was referring to himself and not necessarily the Ring.

Well anyway, I like the lighting but his feet and hands are quite "pretty" for such a twisted little creature lurking inside caves. Gollum isn't exactly a hand model! They ought to be longer and more sinewy IMHO.

Yeah that's a very good point. I guess I got so wrapped up in the face that I neglected making the rest of him look Gollumy. Anyway, in the Hobbit you are meant to assume that he is refering to himself as his precious, but in Lord of the Rings Gandalf reveals that he is actually refering to his ring.
