i agree with everyone, BUT i'll put it in another way, the background is to dominant, it takes over the feeling of the ogres shape..

otherwise, kickas

He looks friendly enough. I like the pot smoking hippy head he's holding. Few too many H's there.
-Edit- And i love the scepter design.

The arms seem to be unnaturally stuck out forward, and the background doesn't really go well. But overall a very nice image indeed.

Hey Maceface,

Nice piece. I really like your character design.

Something that jumped out at me was how dark and flat the legs and boots looked in this piece. I don't think I would have noticed this so much if you didn't do such a awesome job on shading the skin and weapon.

Same goes for the dark characters you have in the background... those dark characters take away from your main focus (the orc) my eyes seem drawn to either side of the orc. I think that makes sense ;-) hehehe...

That being said... I think you have an amazing talent for details. I think you showed amazing emotion in the face of the orc. Awesome job all around maceface...

Love to see more of your work.

- Shawn

hey shel i wont be on icq for ages man...my comp is so screwed up with its net connection its not funny.
so shoot me an email and lets sell some posters

to answer some questions:
azrael3000: i think it was a 2b lead (and to kill 2 birds with one stone) i only use a mechanical pencil! so it takes for ever yes to shade the big parts but it helps to do the small detailed parts.

shawn: thanx for the GREAT input! the background does draw your attention away from the main guy. any suggestions on ways i could make them not? like should i fade them out sort of...make them less dark?

and clueless: since its mechanical pencil i think i went through like 7 of those sticks of lead...so basically one container

thanks again for the great input
