This is something i did a month or so ago.
It's wrong in a lot of ways, but i keep getting good comments on the composition, and i'm not going to do any more work on this particular piece, so i'm putting it here in finished.
I may redraw it and color it better, beting more faithful to "Ogier". This was done from memory in between books 2 and 3 (the "people kept confusing him for a trolloc thing"). I marked a good description in 4 that i'll use later.
Anyway, different process for me on this one, because i sketched it, scanned the drawing, cut in some rough color, printed it out, and inked it with a brush pen, and scanned it back in.
how's that for a run-on sentence from hell?

This reminds me a lot of John R. Neill's illustrations from the Oz books. Updated with a little computer feel, especially in the gradient of the sky. You should look up those books if you haven't.
As far as Loial goes, he seems fine to me, but it's been a while since I read the books. Speaking of which, the one thing that's perhaps missing is a book or two. |

Pigeon, are those the watercolor-on-etching or woodcut looking ones?
It sounds familiar, i'll have to check 'em out.
Loial needs to be wider, with a bigger nose, wider face... he's pretty lithe here .
I still like it as a drawing though.
And yeah, pockets bulging with books. |

yeah.
I started another one and begain a WIP thread over here :
He's more character-appropriate i think there. It's him at the battle for Emond's Field in book 4. |
