my only comment for the first one is that compositionally, the word is too close to the face. i think they both need their own space around them to convey the feeling you want ("alone"ness i should think)

what about this: make it a panoramic piece - 3 units wide by one unit tall. put the face in the first third, have the middle third be just black, and have the word in the right third, maybe with just a subtle hint of white texture on the far edges of the canvas. i think it might help the "feel" - but the work itself is GREAT!

The first one is obviously a photo.

Can't fool me sunny.

Plus it doesn't match up with the evolution of the rest of your work.

There was this other guy where I post, that tried to fool everyone there by taking his smudge tool over a pic of a playmate and saying he painted it. The only problem with that was I had the original pic of the playmate and I posted it.
I'm not saying that's what you did, 'cause you didn't say you painted that pic, but it seems as though some were confused as to whether it was a photo or not.

Anyways......

I'm out.

Take it easy,

Hehehe... I put my head in the scanner the other day, except I was sick so I look like a freak =)

I'm not choking myself either, I'm holding my necklace back so it wouldn't fall in my face, hehe:

Another product of my extreme boredom, unfortunately I don't have a friend whose head I can cram into my scanner.

Heya StormVermin. Been quite some time since I've seen you around. Anyhow the first image is great but I think it is a little too dark and you don't see enough of it. How did you get that "graining texture" on the face?

As for the second one, I know I've seen it somewhere else before but got no idea where. What have you used it for?

Later.

LOL...Has this picture of everyone sticking their heads in scanners so you can get a close up of pores...YUK!
I agree that the first picture needs the wording spaced farther away and perhaps smaller to give the alone feel. But other than that it is a dramatic work. It is a photo I surmise.
Thanks for the introduction. I am a newbie to this forum...Nice to meet you.

You see what you've started? I've been so unmotivated to draw and now all I can do is scan! This my my pathetic attempt at making myself look like a mermaid. Yeah, I'm fearless... eyes open and stuff. Next thing you know I'll be jumping out of planes and smoking crack.

I'm going to make my boyfriend jump in the scanner when he gets home now. It sucks not having anyone to scan but yourself.

[edit: Just realized I hadn't even crit'd your work yet. How awful of me, just ot come in and post some images... yeesh, I'm sorry Welp... here's my crit. I like the first image, the girl is lovely and I think it really does have a sense of loneliness... Your snowboarding guy is cool too. I think it would help if you made him a different color from the background though, they sorta merge too much right now. The costuming on your sword guy is pretty cool, but his pose is a bit off balance and stiff. ]

Yah, heh. Disney is MAJOR controlling on stuff, both in their studios and in their parks. My step dad was workin there during the gulf war (Disney World in FL) and they were not allowed to even BREATHE the word "war" because Disney World is supposed to be the place people go to forget the real world. One of the hotels associated with Disney put up the yellow ribbons on trees that many were putting up for the soldiers; Disney made the hotel take them down.

Having said all that.. cool pics.
