I know I'm supposed to be working on my big series of factions... but when I stepped away from my desk for a second, to take a break, this dude popped into my head and I just HAD to draw him! I thought I'd share, get your reactions, to better validate the time I took out to draw him (I hate when people do this, but I'm proud to say he took about 15 min)

I love getting characters poping into my head. The odder the better. Good stuff. Even in a simple sketch such as this you have very nice lines....None of them are short hairy lines..I tend to get a few short hairy lines. Im getting better but there still in there.
This guy is great.
MIKE though...what is with you and people in there underwear. =P

Alan Tew and I decided, that if you draw a terrible drawing of a guy, and then put underwear on him, it's automatically a great drawing.

I've since drawn guys with underwear out of habit.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes breaks from bigger projects. The stuff I do on my breaks is a little more disturbing though.

How is you can create all those neat little characters so quickly? I never really attempt to do anything so fantasiful and full of personality. Always the same thing for me, dinosaurs, aliens, People in spacesuits, dark freaky-looking monsters on bleak eerie backgrounds...

You should be doing concept art for Jim Henson studios (may he rest in peace). Have you ever seen the stuff on movies like Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, or the TV series, Farscape?
