I posted this on the concept art forum, and I'm fairly pleased with the results so I figured I'd post it here too. See what you all think. Done with Photoshop and Painter.

Great character, great atmosphere, great colours, great rendering, great idea!

First post... well welcome to the forum. It's great to see yet another talented artist here.

Your website is good. So everyone visit his website, it has a large gallery of his works, and they are all good. Well worth the IE bookmark space!

Crit: I think that the shadow of him on the ground should be darker as it gets closer to his feet. The most noticeable thing that I first saw was the wall, the stone wall. I think the problem with it is that it doesn't look solid. This could be the rendering proccess you used. When I see it I can see lots of tranparent brush marks.. and areas of paint layed down that because of their transparency and blurriness, consequently look transparent and not solid.

Add some sort of texture.. some grit, to sharpen it up..

Other than that I dont have anything else to say. Good work..

Thanks for the compliments guys. Wow! There are a lot of people who post on this board. These forums are great for inspiration and giving me the initiative to stop playing computer games and do art.

Hey! How's it going! I hope this message board can provide you with at least some critiques and inspiration. Well the whole image is great, if I had to make an type of crit (and I am really streching here) I would've done two things differently from your render;

1- I would've made him staring down and directly at us, just seems that a small hunch back would be more timid and wouldn't give the evil eye
2- I would've made his fingers streched all the way out and partially on the door handle, as if he was about to open the door.

Anyways GJ! And like I said those crits are streching and are more personal prefrence than anything else.

I hope to get some crits from you and see more of you artwork, btw your site rocks!

enough outta me, If I don't stop now I could go all night....
