Hey folks,
Gotta rant and rave here for a bit, hope you all don't mind.
I posted a pic a couple weeks ago of the pic that is on the cover of Manga EX #6. I was so excited that I finally got my art on a comic cover; something I could show folks and be proud of.
The book was released this week! I went to the comic store today to pick it up. As I scanned the comics, I saw the top of it amidst the flood of other books. I picked it up and marveled at it. YES! I finally got a cover (as well as a short story inside)!! I grabbed two of them; one to read and the other I would cut off the cover and frame it. Then my eyes glanced to the lower left corner where the cover credits are posted. My jaw dropped. I wanted to scream. I wanted to throw a tantrum. All I could do was stand there, staring at the words:

I started to think of all the posts I put up about my cover. The people that read them and might see the cover will think that I was lying about the cover being mine. Will people think I am trying to take credit for something that isn't mine that I actually did?
I still picked up two copies of the book. I doubt I'll frame it now (framing it is kind of vain, but I was so proud of myself).
I called up Joe Wight (a friend of mine who works for Antarctic Press) and asked what happened. He said that he let someone else compile the cover and they must've used a different template from a previous issue. Joe is my good friend so I didn't make too much of a fuss.
Shit happens.... and it just funked up my day. I'll get over it by tomorrow.
Just had to get this off my chest.

I would be goddamn annoyed, and most likely request both a monetary recompence and an apology on the first page of the next issue.

I would love to see them print an apology in the next issue but Manga EX #6 is the LAST issue. Also, they usually print the credits on the inside cover, but they didn't do it with this one. It was kinda just thrown together. Hell, there's even a submission guidline in the back of the book for submitting for future issues of Manga EX.
When I talked to Joe at AP he said he would print some apology in Mangazine.
At least my story on the inside looks good. I'm happy with that. The PhotoShop grayscaling came out nice.

I agree with Anthony, I would do the same.. That would royally irritate me. And Id be breathing down their necks until something got done... just because he's a friend doesnt mean you should let something like that happen.. that could have been an important portfolio peice.
