Nice Dire Avenger! I like what appears to be a type of motion blur on the character's left foot.

The Orks could probably use a little more detail on their armor but it's a cool action piece.

hey, thanks.

hehe.. y'know.. the sad thing is, i think i'm most proud of that frickin' brick right in the middle of the piece.

One thing i'm trying to place in my work more is the "don't paint what's not important" ideal. I'm not saying i succeeded, it's just something i started trying to think about when i was working on it. Heh, by that logic, that brick is really significant.

Motion Blur... yeah, i was trying to make it look like he's moving pretty fast, and if you check the links above the image, he's with a unit in the non-cropped version.

I definately want to put more "rendering" time into areas of the next project, focal bits that really shine.

Gee - it looks kinda dark... (note to other forum members: that's all you have to say to jerO to get him aggrivated. )

Naw, seriously - looks good man. Looks better on your wall though. More grunge work on the digital version would be cool. Think spooge!

Don't make me come over there, Ark.

So... grunge as in armor dings and stuff, or grunge how?

I'm thinking if i shy away from primaries more that may help a little.

gotta get away from the default PS swatch..ewwww.

LordAiroch: thanks, i do

BTW, the Jes Goodwin art book "The Gothic and the Eldritch" should be out in the near future for those of you interested, and the Blanche Inquisitor art book out sooner.

grunge... well - I guess I just mean less blurry, more texture and contrast. similar to the bricks and the eldar's right boot(?), but again with some, umm, well - grunge.

Clear as mud?
