Stunning, as usual. I adore the way you have simplified the audience. It's just so right.

The lighting is beautiful also.

Spoogester....Your down with the gladiator stuff arnt ya...What is this your 2nd or 3rd pic.

Dont get me wrong...I like it alot, Im a sucker for that kind of stuff too...

I know you do alot of Roman/Midievil type stuff..Ex..Gladiator stuff, King Aurther stuff....have you ever done or thought of doing something Scottish Midievel..
as an example I have to give Braveheart.
I think that would make a great battle pic.
I love the contrast in clothing between the British and Scottish...Kilts vs Armor hehe.

That would be very kick ass...

Well You have fun....doing your thing and Ill seeyas later.

Nice. You do so well the two things I have the hardest time with: picking an overall color value that you don't deviate from throughout the whole picture, giving it a very unified feel; and handling lighting in a very realistic fashion without having to use references.

Very inspiring.

i love the way you leave certain areas totally sketchy and detail some focus points very carefully. that gives the whole thing an air of effortless perfection. wonderful.

This is a terrific image. I really like the fact that the guy actually looks like he's stretching his arms up, his whole body stretches up... it seems like that would be a difficult pose to get right, for me anyway.

For this website I'm working on I have a theme listed that this image goes very well with. I've been trying to gather various art from different artists to display and it would be really cool to have something (or maybe a couple if you don't mind?) of yours to display. Actually I e-mailed you and a few other artists but I didn't expect you would receive the e-mail since you're always so swamped. I would really really appreciate it. Thanks so much

Beth

cool painting spooge, but i guess im yearning for some burning, cause i think i see some things that are questionable to me.
So i guess let the flaming of me ensue.
first thing that caught my attention is the gladiators left arm. I took a good bit of time trying to justify a reason why you would put his left arm so far in towards the head of the character. other things too, like the shoulder armor with no where to fasten it to, cept the helmet, and another thing is the character seems to be raised up, like he's riding on the shoulder of other people, or possibly on a stand. Also the character seems to be standing in a shadow, but his left side has highlights, which im reading as the opposite side from the main lighting. I dunno im just trying to be helpfull to you and to myself.

I love the style spooge, excellent pose and angle. One thing that struck me (I hope you don't mind me saying), it does'nt look like the guy will have much of a neck or head in the space of that helmet??

Holy shit Craig -- The first thing that caught my eye was the lighting on the stands; That's fabulous because it's so simplistic, yet so expressive -- keep up the great work!

Ah! Now that's bloody good!
You should paint some female gladiator pieces. I was watching this documentary a couple of nights ago on gladiatrix.

That's just simply great! I adore the way you just set the right mood in these pictures. They just emit so strong feelings and create right atmosphere. Absolutely positively marvellous.

You have the gift use it well and produce atleast one pic for every day for us (not even far as good as you are people) and we shall build a temple for you and worship you! ...

back to reality. Anyway nice to see you posting again.

But where is that other talented young man, Friggin FlickFlack Stone???

Spooge, that has to be one of the best pics ever you've done. I love everything about that picture, especially the way you protraded the Audience. You should be very happy with that picture, its is astounding.
