This is the first of a series of 8 pieces i am doing like this. for a brief artist statement: The figures in the series are intentionally simplified to geometric shapes to focus more on the atmosphere. The main focus here is story telling. my goal is to provide as little information as possible and get numerous stories out of it.
enough talk, here it is
please, crit away. |

very nice, if inspiring stories is the point of this piece then all I can say is you better get a very large pad of paper as there are just so many possibilities that come to mind, I love the pose(could be so many things) and the atmosphere is very strong. |

im glad you get a lot out of it. this is a follow up to a series i did similar to it, but lless focused on the people, but more of the event. there was way too much negative space now that i look at then, but i planned on correcting that with this series.
i will post the ones i finish, as i finish them
just a note, this one here is about 15% the original size, the full print out of this is 20x28 inches. i was planning on printing on an Epson 9000.... but gah the color profiles are whacked out of sync. ill find a solution though, maybe light jet or Iris or something. yeah
thanks for your comments |

Me thinks your goal was achieved. I can think of a few stories really quickly based on a quick glance. The atmosphere is really good as well.

Hey Moose,
This is fantastic!!!! One thing I see over and over and over...Is "artists" who have "NO" awareness of "lighting". You have an excellent grasp of what "interesting lighting" is all about!
I look forward to your next post |

thanks for your comments, one of the hardest things about this is making the digital media have life, rather than being lifeless 1's and 0's. i think its workin out pretty well i guess
here is another i finished last night:
i have 6 more on the way too (i have been doing more drawings ) |

wow I likes these very much. solid shapes are so important for good painting and drawing. Very expressive. I can't wait to see the others. |
