i think you did a good job getting the "sunny" look, the saturation of the colors helps achieve that.
it seems a bit of a bleak landscape though. i almost want to see some villages on the hills or a herd of animals. maybe some birds.
a really good landscape painting (IMO) should give the space it is representing character. If this place you depicted supposed to be happy, or morbid? i kind of have an indifferent feeling of the character, the fog (is that fog?) seems eerie, but the sky makes it seem like a placid day. hmmm, input on this?
I really love the distance you have goin on here, i feel though that the foreground is kind of lacking something... not sure waht it just seems bland...
looks nice other wise. |

this is just an opinion, but to me the trees look to individual. I sorta wanna clump them together in my head as this area=trees rather than this thing=tree and that thing=tree and that thing=tree. I hope u understood that. Maybe its just that they're a little too regularily spaced. |

Mr.Moose covered most of the stuff I'd say, also you may want to consider dropping the saturation for the purple mountains on the back a bit. Same goes to detail, you would see more of it the foreground (the hill in front) compared to the back.
"a really good landscape painting (IMO) should give the space it is representing character" agrees =]

thanx guys..
I was trying to put a house on the hill but it was just loking bad so I nixed it.
moose.. I live in what is called a "semi-arid" desert. so we have lots of nice green trees but we get dust that kinda settles in the valley.. and it makes this weird hazy effect.. Its really quite beautiful. so the fog is actually more dust.
Dan, I see what you mean.. thanx Ill keep that regular spacing thing in mind next time.
Kazz, detail... aaaaahhh detail..
thanx for the feedback. |
