One more post, I thought I would show a variety of my stuff. I just finished this woodscape, I'm struggling to get better at landscapes and backgrounds.

Very Nice,
love the compistion, Some more defined shadows and contrast could make this really punch. |

great. i think this would be a perfect illustration for a 'lord of the rings' book. i especially like the shadows on the tree.

woooow. this is truly amazing. trees are double tough and u got them so well.
i anvy you for your skillz in doing trees. (can't remeber formar posts by u so i can't relate to othe skillz u got)
fantastic.
will it be colored? i can see a lot of tough work doing that...

Thanks for the comments. I am actually doing these sketches in preperation to do an oil painting. I am trying to do work on some more traditional mediums, I love my puter and work on it lots but also love using my hands and feeling the materials.
I did draw this completely from memory or out of my head, no references. I do use references and I am a big believer in them, but I also try to teach myself to remember how things look. It is a struggle. I also try to tackle things I have trouble with, push myself and all that crud.

wow.. thats a beautiful tree. great job. I agree with earlier a little stronger shadows would really make this come to life.
