...It's twilight time.
I saw this episode of the X-files about a year ago.... Okay, what does a picture of a rat in a spiderweb have to do with the X-Files? Well, it's like this: The episode was about a hacker who sacrificed her physical body to upload herself to the Net.... And that Platters song kept playing. 'Twilight Time', that is.
So, here we have this rat that isn't dead yet, but soon will be. And that song always reminds me of dead people since I saw that episode of the X-Files.
(I know. My description of the episode was deplorable. I'm rather...exhausted.) Anyway, I've been messing about lately, doing loads & loads of quick little things.... This one caught my imagination, though. It's rather soft & sparkly. Not my usual, precisely, although it does include some of my favourite subject matter....
All right. It's a picture of a rat. Excuse my rambling.
I think this is the best picture I've done on my laptop to date....

I think it's one of the best pictures you have done, period.
I really don't know what else to say (I'm tired too!) apart from that I really love this, the colours, the subject, the poor widdle rat... everything.

Very nice picture. The colors are really nice. You made me feel real sorry for that rat, which obviously makes the subject hit the spot. Nice work.

I find myself tagging along rather unimaginatively behind popular opinion. This is definately one of your better pictures.
Very sweet. Very sad. Very peaceful. Surprisingly not morbid, given the subject. I love those ears. |

This is really great... very soft. I think it's my favorite piece of yours that I've seen posted
I love the little dewdrops on the spider silk. I also really like how images looked when they are sort of framed the way you have yours. This is something I've been meaning to try with one of my pieces for a while. I think I will on the next one

Lovely delicate touches to whiskers.
It reminds me of the illustrations I saw in books from my childhood, a long time ago, and no I wasn't read twisted books about tortured rats!!
It has a real fairytale feel to it. Excellent.

That's really good, ...you did it on a laptop ?!?! Kudos is due! Just to be a kill joy, im not sure if a spider web could hold a rat...but who cares!
I don't suppose you've read the "Dark Portal", by "Robin Jarvis". Your picture instantly made me think of that book, and the sequels..."Crystal Prison" and "The final reckoning". |

You and Enayla share that same smooth style, using similar lighting/highlight styles. Mind you, remember this is just my opinion.
Very nice work, definitley up with your top stuff, if not your best.
Impressed I am |

Thanks, everyone, for all the compliments on this picture--I must say, I was surprised. When I finished it, I wasn't happy. (Can't remember why.) Anyway....
faustgfx--Yeah, I know it's not nice. But it isn't a real rat. I promise I didn't work from a live model. (Of course, I'm not a nice person, anyway....)
Tommy--I'm glad you felt sorry for the rat. It's always the highest praise when my pictures make someone feel/think something.
RRoam--Hehe.... Funny.
neebhore--Think BIG spider. REALLY big spider. HUUUUUUGE spider! (Okay, I'm grossing myself out now...Man, I hate spiders!)
Lukias--I will draw a man one of these days, and you will see the difference between myself and Enayla....
