I wanted to practise anatomy and lightning, so i made this piece. Boring. A boring girl strikes a boring pose. Too tired with it to add a background now. And now that i look at it, i wish i had spent a few minutes more on the initial sketch - my composition stinks..
humm - i'm pretty satisfied with the anatomy i think ? I didn't use any ref, because i wanted to see how convincing anatomy i can whip up. I'd love to be commented on the anatomy + lightning..
p.s : sorry for the file size ..
edit : umm... is it disinteresting or uninteresting ? damn my grammar to hell ..
edit2 : in my opinion, it is her left nipple that makes it all worthwhile.

I like the pic overall, but as you know there are some probs.
Her eyesocket seems to be overly shaded without actually having much depth, It looks as though it should be deeper. Her right breast seems wrong too, If her arm is raised the breast should be streched flatter IMHO.
You're right about the left nipple though,
that is cool!
I quite like the green too!
:
(I've just noticed her forehead's kinda high too)

It's not a forehead its a fivehead.
But about the anatomy, I would have to agree with el tigre about the right breast and the eyelids. Looks like she has some dark maskara(sp?) on. Oh ya and i'm pretty sure its uninteresting.

The breasts are great... remind me of a style from some artist who did some work for Magic The Gathering trade cars.... don't remember the name though

Heya, just thought I'd point out a couple of the things I noticed although I am in no way an anatomy expert.
The arms are really straight, there is no curve are muscle defintion at all. Maybe look at a couple of photos to see how the curve along the upper and lower arms might look on a slender female.
Another thing is that her cheekbone is falling off her face! hehehe It seems as though her facial features are very skeletal and sunken in... especially around the cheeks.
Hmm.. I rambled. Don't know if this helped at all.

hope you don't mind me doing this klaivu
I think the stomach area need some work. now, it's very round like if it was no bones in it.....you kinda get the feeling it's a pregnant woman, but without a big belly, if you understand what I mean.
also, instead od shading everything so soft, try to add more of what is inside the body. add details instead of cleaning things up. More joints, make it look like there's a skeleton and muscles inside the body (even though it's subtle, it will always shine through), etc...
here's I brushed very quickly over your painting to show you kind of what I mean. ...
The best tip, if you are really interessted in working more with anatomy and such, except studying anatomy-sheets is to do a lot of figure drawing. Infact, figure drawing is always good

based on what joachim said and his overpaint, i fiddled a little with the waist and the stomach. to me it seems a load better.. basically i dont know jack about anything around the waist area.
Joachim, i do life drawings every friday ( Janne goes there too ), but its only about 2 hours. I see what you mean by saying that things are too soft.. it'll be hard for me to avoid that look, since i'm "afraid" of contrast .. well, i could figdet with things forever ..

yup, looks better klaivu Though, you shouldn't be afraid of trying out big changes and adding/removing all the time Just a few other comments, if you don't mind....I think you should lower the navle, it's a bit high up. Also, maybe try to work a bit on the shoulder area, define things more. Look at the overpaint I did, how the muscles on the chest, shoulders and arms goes together.
Nice to hear that you and janne are going to figure drawing every friday Me and micke goes every monday. I just wished it was more often and sometimes longer poses than 1-3 min

What the J said. The rest'll be in Finnish for ease of communication.
Eli, viel lisyksen aikaisempien kommentteihin: Ksivarren noustessa epkslihas l. se niskasta olkaphn, solisluuhun ja lapaluuhun ulottuva seln lihas supistuu mys, joten sen pitisi nousta enemmn. Ehk sulla on koko olkanivel muutenkin hieman turhan kaukana ruumiista - esim. lapaluun ja solisluun rakenne antaa jonkin verran liikkumavaraa, joten olkanivel ei ktt liikutettaessa pysy paikallaan. Ja sitten viel toinen ehdotus, voisi kannataa list vhn lonkka- ja hpyluuta nkyviin. Se tst mun pelleilystni.
