Ah...yes, thanks for pointing that out...since it was kind of looking up at the face, I thought the ears would be higher, but I accounted for that a bit too much, so I lowered them, added the eyeliner (heh, thanks for the tip) and tried to mix the skin tones a bit better.
So here's the updated version:
Oh yeah, I might as well show you my cock too, I put it in another thread, but I want to hear what you might think of it

Hi everyone, I've been doodling with this for a long time now...not actual painting time, but just picking it up and messing with it over a long time...I was just wanting to hear what you guys think about it, too see if it's worth finishing...any tips or suggestions for the background are welcome too

some anatomy problems (ears etc); he doesn't look very egyptian... maybe thicken the eye outlines?
oh, and the top of his head seems cutoff... could be a weird hat tho |

Hi Golongria, here's some critique on the egyptian. The face seems sort of flat to me. I believe it gives that impression because the lighting is rather undefined, and those black lines don't seem to be following the natural form of the head.
The ears are way too big IMHO, but maybe he belongs to some ear cult or something...
I probably shouldn't do this, since I am not very good at it and since I have no idea what a typical egyptian looks like. But I did this quick paintover (mainly for my own practice ), and I might as well put it up here. Hope you don't mind my touching your pic. The paintover is full of mistakes, but maybe you can make something of it.

golongria: that's better, now try to get some reference. agrajag was right about it looking flat.
agrajag: face is less flat in your pic, but the hat is still 'cardboard'. also, ears aren't the area you're very good at, right? there are many errors in the repaint indeed
i'd do a repaint, but no time... i'm dead tired, gotta do tons of stuff
anyway, cheers |

Mr. T, you're right. IF I have to fiddle around with another person's picture, I may as well touch the whole thing, not only part of it. So I rounded the hat a bit more and tried to shade it a little, plus I attempted to repair the ear. I did not (and will not) touch the collar area. I guess I'm in fact not very good with ears, but then again, it's not the only thing I'm not very good at
DarkStalker&Shamhead: Thanks for the backup! But I guess a publicly posted repaint should contain a certain amount of improvement, so...
Anyway, to Golongria: If you feel this repaint of mine may misguide you in your learning process, either ignore it or tell me to remove the post. |

Haha...no problem guys, although I didn't see much improvement in your repaint, I liked the skin tones you used, I appreciate any help given, I usually don't get it here I'm out of town for this weekend, but once I'm back I'll try to fix it up some.
