I thought I'd take my ogre and use for my next 'excercise'.. Now, here's how I've worked so far:
Line of action
Quick sketch, to get an idea of forms and shadows
FInally, colors. The cropping isn't final, I just cropped it like this for now. Now, I'm not any good at surroundings, and I thought I'd try to fix that. I'm imagining a dark prison-hole, but at the same time I'd like that shiny stripe on his back to be there, to pronounce (right word?) his "I've given up" position.
Any suggestions? I've tried several things, but couldn't get a convincing ground, walls, etc.
btw: his lower leg are not finished, I was a bit unsure how shadow and light should play in this area. |

hey Great work, I admire your skill. Just a note: the whole seems a little stiff and static, he doesnt seem to be hanging. if his body and head where more bent forward/downward and his arms more upward, more close to the point of breaking, he would more seem like a tired out prisoner |
