Hi Alexei Samokhin -

I hope you don't mind but I put this together to show how I might approach light and form and a simple way to think. You may already know this.

Hey Mr. T your right. I made the change and added the reflected light. I left it out thinking it might be too confusing to think about. Sometimes it's easier to think of just light and shade.

Hit your refresh button to see the new version.

Does any of you guys play aroung with Mental Ray, Brazil og Arnold?? It's a very interesting eye opener. I learned to SEE my surroundings with these. By that I mean that I constantly compared the real world (light, shadow etc,) with that of the rendered scene, and I found that I really didn't see my environment properly until then.
Sort of the same thing I learned, just in another way....Interesting.

the firm and hard edges seem very similar to me, and to a lesser extent, the soft and lost edges seem pretty similar too.

it seems that the firm edge is a medium between the hard and soft edges. and the difference between soft and lost is that one is over one surface and the other is blending the line between surfaces respectivly.

i have no idea how right i am and if im leaving stuff out. could you explain the differences in more detail please?

Cel-Vinyl??? hmm never seen any of that type of paint in an art store...Where would one buy some?? Actually would cel vinyl be the same as gouache??? My roommates in animation use gouache to paint on cels... Would be interesting to get more info on this Cel vinyl... if you dont mind... hehe =)... But what about all those paintings on your site that are traditional media? Is that Cel Vinyl too ?? or some are in acrylic or oils or gouache...

Sorry for the stupid questions...

thanx..

Hi Wigin-

Cel-Vinyl is a water base paint simlar to acrylics. It covers nicely and when dry is permanent. It's made by a company called Cartoon Colour in Culver City, Ca. (310) 838-8467. I use this paint for all my color sketches and finished renderings. What you see on my website is all Cel-Vinyl.

Hi Gang-

Glad to here all of your positive feedback. I enjoy this.

wigin- The guys head is painted in Cel-Vinyl. It's the stuff animators use or used to paint on Cel's.

Alexei Samokhin- you asked about color, but color is such a wide range subject and it differs slightly in the digital realm. If you have a more specific question I can give you my take on it.

The breast look fake and like balls underneath her shirt. Also her right breast (our left) is higher and or bigger then her left one ( our right). I dont like the nipples you added . they are missed placed and i dont really care much for them in this pic. Unneeded detail imo. Looks much better then the first one you posted GOOD WORK. Also i liked the OLDER cone breast before you made them like balloons..

Good work and hope you will take in consideration my crit... talk to you later
