hey all

Long time since i posted. Been kinda busy of late.

Did this in 2 days for an ASM01 compo, hence why it looks unfinished. I'd like to finish it properly, just dunno if maybe I should just start over. The beast's head on the left I hate the most! I did try over and over to do a new one but failed :/

so.. comments/crits/advice/ideas/flames plz =]

Wow, I really like the idea of this pic.

Perhaps spend some more time crafting the composition of the scene, and the perspective/poses of the characters. The rendering is all pretty good. I especially like the shattered planet.

Beautiful concept, and exactly the kind of thing I would expect to find on the cover of a great sci-fi novel!

Yeah, didn't get the look i wanted within the 2 days i had, so just had to be satisfied. now i have more time i'll be dedicating it to this pic. The beast is going to go (hence it missing from this version). Got a few ideas to try but at least the universe 'kinda' lookslike a universe this time

hehe.. took me bloody ages to get that right. Nothing would look right, was mainly trial and error for about 1.5 hours ;]

I agree and think this is a fantastic concept and on it's way to becoming a remarkable piece. I think that you may want to avoid the 'fake-brush' look of the bottom half of the painting, the landscape, the alien and little creature as it doesn't quite fit with the rest of the painting. Using more refined brushstrokes will help improve the quality of the work. Good luck and and I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Yeah, I agree about the alien, etc. I did what I could do in the time I had (I'm a very slow worker).

The alien will be detailed more (was hoping to do that this week but other things just got in the way).

Sorry there's no update as I post this, but I promise to have something this weekend :]

Wanna run an idea past u guys actually. You think it'd be too much if the universe took up most of the top part or is it fine as it is? Don't wanna overdo it really :]

Right, time to try some ideas.
