Hey dr. bang,
Looking pretty good. You've got right idea with the looping structure on you mesh but there are a few things that you may want to watch out for. Eventhough most programs can sub-divide triangles and polygon with more than 4 sides, you still want to try to keep as many 4 sided polys as you can. 4 sided polys are the most predictable when it comes to subdivision surfaces. Triangle are ok if you use them sparingly. In your mesh, you might have some pinching problems in the corners of the mouth because of all the triangles that are right next to each other. Other things to look out for are un-needed points and polys. If a row of points are all planar then what purpose are the ones in the center serving? For example, on your mesh, there is a row of points that extend from the bottom of the eye into a triangle next to the nose that are contributing very little to the actual look of the model. Since all of the points in that row are planar with the points in its left or right, its doing nothing but using up geometry. In that case, I would not get rid of the row because I think the points in it can be used to further shape the eye socket the contour of the cheek. (If you don't fully understand what I'm saying then please say something and I'll post a picture to illustrate what I'm talking about.) You've got a good start. You've got alot of points that can be doing a whole lot more in your mesh, I would suggest just moving around points with what you've got so far, you'd be surprised at how much you can do with a seemingly small amount. BTW, just out of curosity, how many triangle is the mesh (Un-subdivided) right now? |

Good to see you're making progress!
Critique:
1. The corners of the mouth look flat, maybe you want to push the area around them forward a little. Often the corners go in a little, forming small "pits" (excuse my english).
2. On a smiliar note, his cheeks look too flat and drawn back, maybe you could att more details and muscles.
3. The outer corners of the eyes don't usually stand out that much, but instead blend with the rest of the face.
4a. The nose looks kinda square, maybe you could loosen it up a little.
4b+c. The "wings" of the nose and the "middle-ridge" (excuse my english) aren't usually on the same line horizonatlly, the wings are usually higher up (it looks better that way).
5. The top of the head is too low, the eyes are usually in the middle of the head.
This is an extremely quick answer/drawing, but you get the point.
