Hey, long time I don't post. Well, I got my new scanner now and I'm drawing again.
Anyway, here's a pic I did of a dark elf (drow) chick.
Also, I'm trying to paint the thing, but I suck pretty badly at painting with a PC. Could some of you kickass colorist color her? I did the flat colors, but I can't make it look good for the life of me!

Very nice drawing ;]... but one of the traits of elves ( in D&D) was that whey had small breast... maybe she's just... lucky? Who knows.. I like it.. the hips could be a bit bigger though.... add some lighting and such... I like it.

Well, the thing is, I can't draw small breasts for the life of me!
So, anyone want to color her? Anyone? |

Nice pose, however I too so have a problem with the size of the "ooobies" - Jezebel. Is it just me or does the legs look kinda short as too the proportions?

hmm well i am no expert but here is my go at it, i changed the color scheme bacause i always thought they were more gray like Viconia(Balder's). if you want to change the color scheme just load your flat color job with my picture and put yours untop set to 'Color'... it's crude but it looks alright.
no more geocities, so it works now!

Hey, really cool job, man! Except, the only complaint I have is that drow have white hair. Well, white or silver. And yeah, they have ash colored skin, but I was going for a more Pirotess (from Record of Lodoss War) kinda look.
Oh, and drow are small. They range from 4 to 5 and a half feet. That's why she looks short.

why do people like large breasts?.
All you need's a handfull.
JL
p.s. wider hips= good
ps.s when you said dark elf I was thinking of pasty white with accented eyebrows perched atop a cathedral with a long flowing cape swaying violently in the wind as she watches over the passing folk, running in fear of the water. The fools! hahahhahaha oh, .... but it looks like you meant she was black.
On second thought I think I'll work on this concept.
thanks! |

I really have no idea what elves are supposed to look like, but when I first saw the black and white picture it looked like she would definitely be light skinned, and I think the darker skin justd doesn't quite mix with her facial features. Just my two cents, try it with some varying lighter skin tones and see what you come up with |

Dark elves are supposed to be that. Dark. They range from brown (Record of Lodoss War) to blue (Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore) to ash grey (D&D). |

lower legs need to be longer. They look too short. upper body looks perfect :P
so lengthen those legs and it should look great..
I would have made her skin a light pasty cream color and her dress a dark red. her wrists and boots would be shiney black leather.. and her hair would be some color that has alot of flair or glow if it were to be in some light.. or if you want, maybe make her dress transparent? I think it would look good..
you see i dont care how things are suppose to look.. as long as they look good. .. maybe i'll color it if i have the time.. |

I had a Pirotesse pic from long ago, with the white hair and dark skin you mentioned. Appologies, it's very old, and there are several proportional inaccuracies.

Well I hadn't made a post here for nearly a year and decided to have a look around again, and saw your elvin image and decided to color it.
This is based off the colors I have on my Elvin Druid in my currenty party in the game Icewind Dale.
I know its not real good but I haven't done any art for a while really so *shrug*.
It also may be a bit bright I brightened it because me monitor is terribly dark at default windows gamma, so just turn it down a bit.

I'd like to suggest that many of you are talking in absolutes about elves. For instance, "Dark elves are supposed to be that. Dark. They range from brown (Record of Lodoss War) to blue (Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore) to ash grey (D&D)." You do know that are not real, Right? They are made up. And therefore, can be whatever the artist wants to display them as. The referances you give are all some artist deciding to makeup a version.
Hey, Tinusch, you're from Portsmouth? Cool. |
