Here are a few more pics with the new style I am trying out, similar to the "lil gnome wizard guy" post. What do you guys think? The dwarf was the most hastily done. I hate the girl forearm...gotta redo that. The elf guy....the biggest dumbest elven bruiser ever (so he thinks). No nimble spry elf here.

I, for one, really like this style. Not that I can recall ever seeing your old style. But these pics, and your gnome pic, are all looking very good.
You should color them. |

Crappy style? Bah!
Don't redo the girl's forearm... redo her elbow... basically shorten the length of the (aft arm) bicep & tricep part of the arm... so that the elbow moves up and in a bit.
I really dig this stuff... you're gonna do grand. |

wow. *blushes* glad you people seem to like this. now if i only had my pen to color these with. i cant color very well though, i really cant but i am learning a lot from you guys.
i'm sure this is an worn out topic here but wich do you prefer for figure coloring? photoshop or painter or perhaps wichever you happen to know better?
oh and thanks for the tips. I will definitely fix that elbow and yeah, elf boys head is all screwy...still trying to figure out a way to make elves different without them looking asian with pointy ears.
next step...perhaps a picture of the hottie fighter chick getting her head bashed in by the dwarf? wait! i think i have stumbled onto something here. you hardly ever see a girl getting totally trashed in a comic..and I dont mean just bumping into a wall, i mean teeth coming out and everything...
perhaps a new topic post is needed.."kick some female booty" and no i dont condone spouse abuse or anything like that. |

I'm really digging this style.
Is this for comic work?
As for the elf, I agree with the head comment, but also noticed the weapons. Is the handle over his shoulder attached to the axe blade? If it is the axe is either bent or oddly shaped, just noticed and thought I would say something.
Agree with the arm/elbow for the girl.
Can't wait to see the modified images. |

Melted petal: you must stop calling yourself down as an artist. It actually hinders you from going forward. these really are great drawings and you need to recognize that you are still learning. Really try to stop calling yourself down. Its counterproductive. |

Hippie: Yes these were done as preliminary concept art for something a friend and I were toying around with. A comical group of adventuring heroes that call themselves "The Goblin Crushers" or somethng else nearly as silly. We were gonna reverse the normal plight of goblins and make them incredibly intelligent and malicious little creatures that were wreaking havok on manking etc etc etc....It was more a comedy than anything though.
Now I just gotta do some action shots. As for the Handle and the axe....he has a sword on his back as per the hilt and the end of his scabbard is sticking out from behind his lower right back. the axe was just thrown in there and was just going to be resting against the wall or something (and yes it would be handle up but then i wouldnt have gotten to play with that weird design)
I would also like to say that I dont shun my work but I do feel humble compared to some of the greats on here. |

Hey those pictures are great. They remind me very much of those Warcraft concept arts (Samwise, Metzen etc.). check www.blizzard.com if you wanna know what I mean. |
