This is my first post in this forum so hello, everyone.

It's my first large picture with colours done completely with my brand new Wacom. I'm using Photoshop and working with layers.

The sun's obviously somewhere on the left-hand side. It's supposed to be late morning, just about an hour or two before noon or so. The bottom half is in a shadow of a mountain.

I'd appreciate some tips & comments on the lightning, colours, style, positioning and stuff for the finishing touch.

very very nice, I really like this picture (being a huge fan of medieval fantasy), the only thing I see that I dont like is the fog (im assuming thats what it is) is too hard, it should be more misty, softer and slightly more transparent

keep it up, I love your style

thats a nice start. Suggestions would be, not to use so many darks for the clouds and changing the saturation of the tree's. Make em darker, and less saturated.

Looking good so far.

One thing I'll suggest is that the pic looks very green as it is now. In real life, grass usually has color variation, areas that are browner, yellower, redder, and small flowers or plants (that are white, yellow, light purple etc.)
I agree with making the trees darker, and maybe add slightly yellowish green highlights to the top left of trees in some bunches.
Of course these are just suggestions, hopefully they will give you some ideas.

Thanks for the useful feedback, I'll try these and see how it comes out.

I'm still experimenting with different styles and the capabilities of PS but expect finished painting soon.

Hey, I really like this! As someone who has just started trying to use PS to do landscape art, I'm excited to see what you've come up with. I would love to swap some info with you if you'd care to share how you came up with some of those effects. I'm especially curious about the shape of the trees and grass. I'll post my own wip after this.
Oh, and one comment...if that is a path on the right, it looks to me as if it goes too high before vanishing.

Lovely! I really like the way you rendered those clouds (the white ones)... the gray bit looks a bit odd though

Maybe you could apply a little more DOF by blurring the path little as it goes down?

Just my $0,02

Here is just a quick paint over with some lighting and color tweaks. I tried to vary the color pallet to play with sunlight and depth. It was really fast, no time was spent on details just shapes and colors.

I see you have posted the final. I really like it. I suppose my suggestions will be for next time.
Keep up the good work.

KOryH, your repainted version has definitely much better colours than mine, it has a cold and autumn-like mood in it... or something like that. It seems though you decided to scratch that mountain on the left side, (there was a mountain? ) the bottom part has all the sunlight pouring in. I noticed the way you fixed the sky, maybe it seems somewhat balanced that way.

Neat work.

Thanks again you ppl for all the feedback.

Those trees look more like a wall in the repaint, I kind'a liked the old trees better.

Sarge - Like the picture alot.
KOryH - Good repaint. The colors look fuller, and I love the cloud shadow and sun spots. Looks very nice.
