Before I install Photoshop 7, I want to reformat my hard drive so that it will have a partition for the swap file/page Photoshop will use. How large should it be? |

Mine is 10Gb, which might be a little excessive
If you have enough space then anything between 2Gb-10Gb should be ok. You can allocate up to 4 disks/partitions anyway so even if you can only reserve a relatively small partition as a dedicated PS disk you can still use your main drive/other drives as well when the first one fills up.
Bear in mind that if you work on very large images 10Gb suddenly becomes less excessive than it sounds. |

I have another question on this matter.
When doing a format on your hardrive, should it be NTFS or Fat32. I heard rumours and some say NTFS is much more stable, others say Fat32 is better for immage file's, others say it doesn't matter wich of the two it is.
Is there a difference and if so, does it have a large influence?
I'm just not a computer-wiz and was wondering? |
