Might be more easy to offer some advice if you presented a bit more info about what you're saving... Which file formats? File sizes? Are you refering to changes in printed color or monitor color? and whatever else you might think is important... |

Heh, I have exactly the same problem when using photoshop. Any images viewed inside Photoshop are bright and vibrantly coloured, however the colour lightens and becomes a lot duller once the image is saved and viewed outside of photoshop.
For a long time, I didn't know why the colour change kept happening, and I simply adjusted the brightness/contrast a bit before I saved any of my artwork (I usually make it a few points darker, and up to +10 on the contrast scale. It may make the image seem too dark in photoshop, but once you've saved it and you're viewing it in Explorer or any other program, it'll look fine ).
Also, I recently found on an art website (I can't remember which one) some information on the colour changes in Photoshop. The artist mentioned that it's very important to create specific colour sets for Photoshop it''s something to do with placing code in your artwork that makes sure the colours you see will remain the same regardless of which program a person is viewing it in, which computer platform they use, etc. The code can either be added manually to each of your artworks, or you can add it to the Photoshop program so that all the images you produce will automatically have that code imbedded into them.
Unfortunately, I can't find the website where I read that information, but I'll keep looking & post if I find it, and you could always try searching in Google for "Photoshop color sets" or something along those lines for more information.
I hope thats helped you somewhat =). |

There should be a section in your Photoshop manual that's called "Producing Consistent Colour" (or something similar to that). You can read that section for more info, or if you don't have the manual, got to "Edit > Color Settings" in Photoshop and experiment with those settings.
I left my settings as they were, except for changing the 'Working Spaces: RGB' to 'Monitor RGB - Studio Display AMLCD' and now, any images I view in Photoshop are pretty much identical to images that I view in Picture Viewer or other programs.
I don't know whether the colour I see is the same as it would be seen on another monitor, but I don't think there's anything you can do about that everyone has different settings on their monitors. |

Don't assume B0b. He's asking a question, he's not admitting to warezing the program. If he's like myself I use it at school on school machines and do not have manuals. So, please be gentle with people asking questions here, unless they outright say they have warez. You could also help by giving him the page number as they did above. That 'is' helpful.
Thanks |

A bit harsh, as even with the manual, there are a million things that can cause discrepancies in color. As eyewoo noted, we need more info from xbytes to nail down the problem. One shouldn't always assume questions mean hackers. |
