Just wondering if anyone here has experience with Australian art schools? What are some good ones for illustration/painting. I'm thinking about enroling in one and just trying to get a 'feel' for them. Thanks in advance. |

I'll be applying around the place for Fine Arts next year, and have been asking everyone who can give an answer. RMIT on Melbourne is recommended to me over and over as Oz's best place for art. Next one's usually College of Fine Arts at Uni of NSW (with you in Sydney, this'd prolly be nice and accessable in theory). Third on my list is the Queensland College of Art with Griffith University in Brisbane.
I've only been to QCA and seen work and students that come out of there, and was pretty impressed. I'll be checking out RMIT when I goto the Aussie Games Developers Conference in December, and I have to work out sometime to see COFA. I'll have to look around Canberra aswell seeing it'll be more financially viable for me, but so far I haven't heard anything positive... |

Thanks for the reply Brain. Yeah I've been leaning towards COFA as it is just down the road from where I am but it might be nice to get out of Sydney. So I'll definately give RMIT a serious look.
For what it's worth, UNSW / COFA usually have their 'open day' first week of September and these generally have a tendency to be the most useful times to get information. |

Mmm, might make an effort to get to their open day. I know RMIT's is on the 11th of August, but I severely doubt I'll be able to get to it. @:-/ |
