I'm asuming PS7 is photoshop. Click on the new *brushes* tab that's next to the new file browser tab in the upper righthand corner. In the box that pops up click on the *brush tip shape* section and this gives you the options to change the shape orientation, hardness, and spacing.
Hope that helps.

Here's another way:
In the tool bar click
Window > Brushes
If you don't see a spacing slider bar in the window that pops up then you need to click where it says 'Brush Tip Shape'

Are you on a PC or a Mac?
The other way I told you is:
On the PC there should be a little window in the upper right corner. In that window there are two new tabs that weren't on any previous version of photoshop. One is the 'File browser' and the other is 'Brushes'. If you click on brushes a window will pop open alowing you to change all the attributes of your brush.

Both ways get you to the same thing.
I unfortunately don't have my webpage up otherwise I would link some screen shots.

Sorry

Well, I'm not sure how different PS7 is from PS6, but I'm gona see if I can help you out anyways.
=^_^;=

The little brush Icon at top is where you click to get the spacing information and stuff, while the little tab next to it lets you select the brush that you're going to use.

A lot of the menu's are set up like this (take gradients for example).
Hope this helps.
