If you have Painter 7, just go into the program and choose Help > Tutorials.
Click on the one called "Creating Foliage". It's a great tutorial.. you should be able to get a lot of info out of it.
It was done by Don Seegmiller of www.seegmiller-art.com |

Hi,
gekitsu is right. There are a lot of tutorials either written specifically for Painter 7 or useable in Painter 7 on my site, PixelAlley.com.
First go to the PixelAlley Section Links Page by clicking "Enter" on the home page or directly by using the following link:
http://www.pixelalley.com/pixelalley-sections-pages.html
On the right side of the page are links to a lot of Painter 7 information that it will be helpful to you if you read it thoroughly. Be sure to download all of the PDF files and read them. They are three Visual Guides for Water Colors, Liquid Ink, and Keystroke Shortcuts by Painter Developer John Derry and one from Painter writer Karen Sperling, a Quick Reference Guide for Water Colors.
With the Painter 7 Update (patch) some of the issues reported in the Painter 7 Findings - Tips and Facts section have been fixed but there's still a lot of useful information there that will probably save you some time and frustration if you read through it, then refer to it again when you run across a related problem. Especially good to read is the tutorial by Painter artist and author Jeremy Sutton about Paper textures and how they interact with brushes differently in Painter 7 from earlier versions.
There are a few tutorials in the Painter 7 Tutorials section as well.
At the top left side of the PixelAlley Section Links Page is a link to the Tutorials section where there's a long list of tutorials written for Painter 5, 5.5, 6, and 7. They're color coded to indicate which versions can be used with them.
At the bottom half of the page is a list of Painter related forums, e-mail lists, and newsgroups with links to sign up. The best of these are:
Painter list at Topica.com - oldest Painter list, over 800 members, lots of expert users.
corel.graphic_apps.painter newsgroup - read by Corel/Procreate so it's a good place to post problems and ask questions.
alt.fractal-design.painter - long established Painter newsgroup, some experts
Painter Forum at In Depth Discussions - very active Painter community, images posted inside message threads, demos, tutorials, artwork finished and in progress, painting challenges with no time limit and anyone can introduce a challenge, shared custom brushes, lots fun and constant learning and sharing of information. Message archives hold a wealth of information.
If you have questions post them on any of the above (preferably more than one to get the best feedback), and you'll get responses pretty quickly.
Please stop by the Painter Forum at In Depth Discussions. I think you'll find it's a great place to learn Painter and have a good time in the process. Lots of talented and generous artists there to inspire and encourage. |
