hello out there, I'm new around these parts, decided to finally log in and ask a few questions with this new painter 7 series, I've been using 5.5 mostly for the saved brushes that you can have and click back to.. Painter 6 didn't really keep save the brushes as a reset, whatever you do to the brushes, stays that way, which I didn't like, I like to have preset brushes, size, color, set at a certain dimension so even If i do change on screen , they reset everytime I click back on them...now for those who use painter should know what I'm talking about , does Painter 7 keep preset brushes to an exact dimensions, even if you change size on screen? thanks

The answer to your question is "no." Once you change the size of the brush while you're using it, it remains the size you last left it. My suggestion, don't resize. Make a lot of variants in the sizes which you like and then just switch between them. I've seen a lot of custom brush sets out there that look like a set of markers, etc.

Painter 7 DOES allow you to return your variant brush to it's original setting, just in case you go a little crazy with the settings. In the Brush Palette under the Variant Menu, try the "restore default variant" option. If you want to use that option a lot, you can even program it as one of your function keys in the Preferences.

You can also restore all Brush Variants in the currently loaded Brush Library at one time:

Hold down the Alt/Option key and in the Brushes palette's Variant menu, choose Restore Default Variant, then click the OK button.
