Can anyone explain to me how I can create my own brushes to use in photoshop? This one's been bugging me...

step1: create new file with the size that your new custom brush should be (white bg)

step2: 'draw' your brush with black color

step3: select all, then press that triangle button on Brushes window - choose "Define Brush"

open up a new image, draw anything in b&w and go to Edit->define brush

just make a grayscale image of what you want your brush to look like, and make a selection around it. then go to the "triangle" menu on the brushes pallette and select "define brush".
