I am currently in the process of learning 3DS Max 3. I'm trying to find out how I can model a organic shape(along the lines of a whip or tentacle)and animate it as such. Does anyone have a link to some tutorials that might help me achieve somthing like this?
Any help would be really appreciated
Thanks

Well normally you model the whip with enough segments along its length that it can bend in a fluid manner. Then add lots of bones to the whip(small bones). Set up inverse kinematics on the bones, maybe having three goals for the IK along its length. Animate these goals and it oughta be good. In messiah I'd use splineIK, but I don't think MAX has that. |
