I'm not quite sure what sort of answer you're looking for there. The whole palette is useful in painting reality, just depends what you're painting.

What I'm painting? Currently nothing, 'cause I haven't really started. But I'm interessted in Sci-Fi Scenes(Starships, Planets, Aliens...)
[edit]
Plz look at http://geocities.com/Area51/Station/6165/index.html the homepage of Roman Kochnev. To my mind these are some great Pictures. I'm interessted in this style, so maybe you can tell me how to paint such pics.

There's really no quick answer to that question. It's simply a matter of learning to be an artist. To create images like those linked you need to learn to draw, design, shade, compose etc. Most of that will come through the old 'practice, practice, practice.'

if ya need an excersize that will help you...here ya go.
find three paintings that have colors and elements that you like and that pertain to the image that you want to make.
do a study of each piece...copy it if you have to.
now that you have three color schemes to work with...make your own image using similar colors.
artists like sargent and whistler did the same thing...they often use the same palettes as rembrandt or velasquez.
take a look..
the artists mentioned can be found at www.artrenewal.org
