Ok, I have now greate problems with photoshop 6.0. I'm currenly working on a pic, 1400x3000. Anyway, when I'm going to fill a area with colour, photoshop stop working, and I have to restart my computer. The latest change has been that I installed another screen card today, and hoocked up my other screen.
Do someone know the reason for this.....and most of all, how to solve it? |

Quite simply, you don't have enough RAM, or your computer is too slow to handle something that big.
I had to work on something that size a while back, and DAMN did it ever take forever to do anything. It was a 8.5X11 sized piece at 300 dpi. Christ.
Uh...find a friend with a fast comp and do it on his, or size that thing down. |

Thanx for the reply Gndalf, but I don't think that was the problem. I have a PIII computer with 700 mhz and 128 ram, as well as a gforce2 32mb 3d card. Anyway, I formated my computer, and now everything works fine! |

Have you checked how much ram is assigned to phtshp?
File/Preferences/Memory & image cache.
Could be it.
Heard that photoshop 6 takes up a lot more ram than 5.5 - dunno. |

Dr.ZuLu: Thanx for your reply. I always have 8 cache levels and 80% out of 113818k while working in photoshop. Everything works fine now. Just have to formate. I guess it was time for it now. Gonna buy a new harddrive for my scratch files. I have a recovery cd, so I couldn't make a new partisiption when I formated the other day.... |
