I'm thinking of getting some markers do to sketches with, but I have absolutely no idea what I should get. I assume that the higher the percentage is the darker the mark is. What kind of markers do any of you people use? What are some of the companies who make them?
Thanks for any info. |

I've used the Prisma color markers (same company as the pencils). They come in a very wide spectrum of colors and usually have a small and wide tip in the same marker. I've also used cheap crayola ones from kmart.
Markers are about blending-most people use marker paper-as it stays wetter a little longer and does show the overlapped edges. I've also used a bit of rubbing alcahol on a q-tip to help rewet the lines and blend it. You can also build up your colors from the primary colors.
You will find some markers set up in warm and cool greys-they range in % low number is lighter.
You might want to check libraaries for books on marker rendering for help.

I use Pantone markers from Letraset. They are pretty cheap, come in all shades from cool grey upwards, and of good quality. (also have three tips on each marker of different sizes)
A couple of good links to marker use help;
